What we need to start
-
Approved Impact Assessment (quotation)
-
Purchase Order
-
Ancillary Services Agreement (signed)
-
On-Boarding Agreement (organisations only; CNSPs not required)
Organisations
1) Enquiry & Outreach
-
Our Onboarding Project Manager is notified via a Service Request or NHS Regional Security Leads, and also proactively engages interested organisations.
2) Intro Call
-
A short session covering the platform, product set, features and benefits.
-
If you already use one Secure Boundary product, we’ll focus on the product you don’t yet use.
3) Requirements & Scope
-
You complete a Scope Document (one template per product).
-
Prisma onboardings also include current infrastructure details so we can assess how Prisma will operate in your environment.
4) Technical Review
-
Our Infrastructure team reviews your scope and clarifies any queries.
5) Impact Assessment (Quotation)
-
The Onboarding PM prepares a detailed Impact Assessment outlining activities and costs, then obtains internal approval.
6) Approvals & Commercials
-
We issue the Impact Assessment externally for your approval.
-
You provide a Purchase Order and sign the Ancillary Services Agreement.
7) On-Boarding Agreement
-
Before connection to the Secure Boundary service, the On-Boarding Agreement (platform T&Cs) must be signed.
-
Already using one Secure Boundary product? If you’ve signed the On-Boarding Agreement previously, no further signing is required.
8) Technical Setup & Go-live
-
We begin connection activities—for example:
-
Establish IPsec tunnels to your Prisma tenant.
-
Go live with your websites (for applicable products).
-
-
We confirm testing, handover and go-live.
Prisma Onboarding Process
Here’s the end-to-end onboarding process at a glance. Completion typically 6-8 weeks from the point of having signed commercials and purchase order.
Imperva Onboarding Process
Here’s the end-to-end onboarding process at a glance. Completion typically 9-12 working days from the point of having signed commercials and purchase order.
Consumer Network Service Providers (CNSPs)
CNSPs can onboard to Prisma only. They allocate a proportion of their Prisma bandwidth to the organisations that contract with them. Trusts using CNSP services send traffic over the Health and Social Care Network (HSCN).
What’s different for CNSPs?
-
No On-Boarding Agreement required (by agreement with NHS England). CNSPs already meet stringent requirements to join HSCN.
-
Lighter-touch process than organisation Prisma onboarding (CNSPs can’t contract out to clients without a Prisma tenant, which simplifies testing).
FAQs
Do we need to sign the On-Boarding Agreement?
-
Organisations: Yes (unless you’ve signed it previously for another Secure Boundary product).
-
CNSPs: Not required by agreement with the client due to existing HSCN obligations.
Why a separate scope per product?
Each product has distinct technical and operational requirements. Separate scope templates keep the assessment accurate and fast.
What information do you need for Prisma?
Network layout, IP addressing, perimeter devices, current tunnels, routing/HA approach, bandwidth, and any security controls that may affect Prisma.
Where do we send the Purchase Order?
Please email it to your onboarding PM referencing your Impact Assessment number.
