A part of this is protecting, defending, and securing the ever-expanding digital perimeter of the NHS.

Our NHS Secure Boundary Solution

NHS Secure Boundary provides a perimeter security solution which offers protection against the most sophisticated security threats for NHS organisations. This solution is part of a larger programme of work being delivered by NHS England’s Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient data, as well as protecting clinical and business systems from emerging threats.

This solution is at the forefront of protecting internet traffic from digital and cloud-based threats, through next generation firewall (NGFW) and web application firewall (WAF) protection.

Delivering the Solution

The setup phase consisted of configuring and testing the platform, and the design and build of operational services, processes and procedures required to deliver the NHS Secure Boundary solution.

This phase finished in December 2019.

collaborationOnboarding

2 years

The on-boarding phase consists of project teams working with NHS organisations and consumer network service providers (CNSPs) to deploy NHS Secure Boundary.

This phase finished in July 2021.

Accenture are providing tier 2 support into the NHS Customer Service Function with tier 3 support from Palo Alto and Imperva. The service management function is utilising an IT Service Management (ITSM) Framework with ISO 20000 accredited ITIL v3 processes.
